Life at Arlington: Tomb of the unknown

There are 5,000 unknowns buried at Arlington from World War I, World War II and Korean War.  An unknown from the Vietnam War, Air Force First Lieutenant Michael Joseph Blassie, was buried in 1984, but the remains were exhumed in 1998, after they were identified by DNA testing. Advancements in DNA testing may mean the end of new remains to the ranks of the unknowns.
